CATARACTS TAKE A 2 NOTHING LEAD HEADING HOME

April 7, 2019 Immediate Release Torbay, NL –The Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts got goals from five different players and Cats goaltender AJ Whiffin kept the Southern Shore Breakers at bay to take Game two of the 2019 Herder Memorial Championship by a score of 5-1. Kyle McGuirk Andre Gill, Rodi Short, Danny Wicks and Michael Cole with an empty net short handed marker scored for the Cataracts. Kyle Tibbo replied for the Breakers. Whiffen stopped 43 of the 44 shots he faced while, Mark Yetman suffered the loss for the Breakers. The best of seven series resumes next weekend in Grand Falls-Windsor for games three, four and five, if necessary, at the Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium. The Herder Memorial Trophy was first presented by Ralph Herder of the Evening Telegram Limited in honor of the hockey playing Herder Family, wo founded the Evening Telegram in 1879. The trophy is emblematic of the All Newfoundland Senior Hockey Championship.
